Galaxy TabがiPadの意匠権を侵害した、というAppleの訴えを英国の裁判所が斥けた、というニュースが話題になっている。

日本のニュースサイトなどでは、
などと言ったような見出しで取り上げられている。裁判所がそんな言い方するわけねーだろうがよ、と思ってUKのサイトを見てみると、こちらには

などと書かれている。うわ、話を盛ってるのは英国のメディアだったのかぁ、と思ってさらに本文中の裁判所のコメントを見てみると、
"Samsung products are very thin, almost insubstantial members of that family with unusual details on the back. They do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is possessed by the Apple design. They are not as cool. The overall impression produced is different," and therefore Samsung tablets do not infringe on the Apple design patent, he concluded.
うっわー、"They are not as cool."だって。英国メディアも別にテキトーなこと書いてるわけじゃなかったのか。しかし裁判所が正式コメントとしてこんなこと言うのかよ、すげえな、英高等法院。クールだな。
Samsung said in a statement that it welcomed the judgment. As the ruling proves, the origins of Apple's registered design features can be found in numerous examples of prior art, the statement read. "Should Apple continue to make excessive legal claims in other countries based on such generic designs, innovation in the industry could be harmed and consumer choice unduly limited."
サムスンも判決を歓迎してていいのか？「Galaxyのデザインはもっさい」って公言されてるんだぜ。
一方で、「Appleも、こんな一般的なデザインでみんな似たようなもんになるのに、いちいちイチャモンつけてんじゃねぇぞコラ」という高等法院のコメントもごもっともだな。
ちなみにiPadの日本語入力で「あいぱっど」と入力すると、ちゃんと「iPad」と変換されますが、「ぎゃらくしー」はやっぱり「ギャラクシー」です。了見が狭いぞ、Apple。
